Established
Centre For New Learning, Bengtol, formerly known as St. Edmund’s English School, was established on 24th February 1994 with a humble beginning of just 12 students and 4 teachers in a rented house near Bengtol Bazar. The institution was founded under the inspiration and guidance of dedicated social worker and educationist Mr. Dominic Basumatary, whose vision was to provide quality English-medium education to the children of the region.
The genesis of the school traces back to the developmental and educational initiatives undertaken through the Centre for Youth and Rural Development, Bengtol. Despite financial hardships, limited infrastructure, and many initial challenges, the school steadily grew with the support of teachers, parents, well-wishers, and the local community.
In 1995, land for the school campus was purchased, and by 1996 the school shifted to its present location at No. 2 Bengtol. Over the years, temporary structures gradually gave way to permanent buildings, and the institution continued to expand both academically and infrastructurally.
The school was officially renamed as Centre For New Learning, Bengtol on 19th June 2006 and is presently managed by the Good Earth Education Trust, Bengtol. With a consistent record of academic excellence and holistic development, the institution later transitioned from the SEBA curriculum to the CBSE curriculum and received CBSE affiliation in 2018.
Today, Centre For New Learning stands as one of the prominent educational institutions of the region, committed to nurturing disciplined, responsible, and compassionate learners through quality education, values, and holistic development.
To provide quality education that nurtures creativity, leadership, discipline and strong moral values while preparing students for future challenges.
To become a centre of excellence in education by developing confident, responsible and future-ready learners with global perspectives.
